Every spring more than 1,000 evergreens are planted at Cooks' Woods, which in 7-10 years will be ready to harvest. While they grow the trees provide habitat for birds and help control erosion.  Once they are cut, the trees can be recycled into useful products like mulch and wood chips.

On the Friday after Thanksgiving the farm opens to the public and remains open until Christmas week.  The experience of choosing and cutting a real tree for Christmas creates a great family tradition.  It also offers great fun to hundreds of people in Grant County, Wisconsin and its neighboring counties. 

Shaking and baling of trees is provided free of charge.  Tree stands, watering spouts and bags are for sale to make owning a real tree high on enjoyment and low on hassle.

Come to Cooks' Woods this Christmas season to find the perfect tree to brighten your holidays.  The order deadline for custom wreaths and specialty items is November 7, so see our price list and ordering form (the last page, shown below the "Maple Syrup" link.  That way we will have them ready for you for pick up by November 24, the day we open for Christmas tree sales.  Also note that payment must accompany the order.  You can bring this order form and price list along after the 7th to remind you to shop for wreaths, garland, or specialty items such as mantle runners or mailbox toppers (available in limited supply, so shop early)!  You might also want to get some maple syrup as presents and hostess gifts.
